I am after a manual steering column (not power steering) for a falcon XD-XF.
I understand that these slide in and out a bit, but I am after a factory non-power steering column.
Thanks,
Ray

Hi Ray - they truly are the same part - you just need to tap the inner out to reach the manual box - I think it's 27mm from memory.
Best way is to take the column out and stand it on the ground on the wheel - stand on the wheel and tap the inner up till you get the extra length - this way you will not be hammering on the top bearing...

Thanks ZC.
I keep reading that they are the same part, but would like to confirm that the two parts are not going to come apart as I drive down the road. I have a spare power steer column so I will have to dismantle it to prove it to myself.
I just paid to recon the manual steer box so definately want to go back to manual steering.

Sorted. I rang the last owner who installed the power steering, and he advised it is still the non-power steering column, just pushed in a bit to suit the power steering box.
So I still have the non-power steering column and don't need to track one down.
Will swap this weekend.........depending on the demands placed upon me by my kiddies!
