Operation Rudolf 2007 E-mail
Operation Rudolf is a joint operation being undertaken by Far North Region based Police, Fire, Ambulance, SES and the general community including the North Queensland Performance Ford Club.

The proceeds of this activity will be given to the Cairns Base Hospital for use in the Oncology Department.

The day to put in your Diary is 15th December, 2007.

Operation Rudolf will be a massive convoy of emergency vehicles, estimates at this are that it will be a minium of 40 vehicles including a pink Cadillac convertible for Santa's helpers, 2 black and White Sheriffs vehicles, and one massive Fire Service appliance that will dwarf all other vehicles on the road.

This event starts at around 2:30 at Cairns Base Hospital and the Palm Cove Christmas Festival kicks off at 5:30 that same evening.

The Convoy itself  will weave from the centre of Cairns and some 5 hours later arrive at the Christmas Festival at the world renowned Palm Cove.

Santa will be escorted on his journey, under lights and sirens, and he will be stopping along the way to hand out lollies, drinks etc to children.

We will be receiving News coverage and advertising in the lead up to the event stating where and when you will be able to greet the convoy and what events are occurring at the Palm Cove Christmas Festival.

The crew from 846 have already offered to donate their time for this event and they will be live for the duration of the convoy.
As well advertising promoting the event will be run jointly on Easy Listing 846 and 4CAFM.

The Cairns Post has agreed to run a map outlining the convoy route and details as well as various stories to support this event.

The plan is to have the full convoy form up at 2:30 and begin the merriment and fundraising no later than 2:45 with around 21 stops between the Hospital and Palm Cove.

This is a true community event and we would very, much like your support.

Please Contact Brian Baily on 0416 079 190 if you would like to join the convoy and display.
